My projects

While I'm a data scientist by profession and economist by training, I've got broad interests and have worked on wide ranging projects. Here are some of them:

Create Wikis with LLMs

Create Wikis with LLMs

Creating subject-matter wikis typically requires immense manual work writing and researching hundreds of articles. I articulate a framework to automate the creation of such sites with modern LLMs such as GPT-4 and transcription tools such as Open AI Whisper. I am writing a series of articles to explain my implementation of this framework with Python, Astro, Directus, and PostgreSQL.

Chomper

Chomper

I built a Python-command line tool for Linux allowing for whitelisting and blacklisting of websites. It filters all outgoing requests through a transparent proxy, which allows for filtering requests at the URL level. This means you can make nuanced blacklists and whitelists, allowing you to block particular parts of sites (e.g. particular subreddits) without sacrificing your ability to do work.

FPV Drone Videography

FPV Drone Videography

First-person view (FPV) drones require operators to wear goggles which allow them to see through a camera on the drone itself. FPV drones are much more difficult to operate than standard DJI drones, but they allow for much finer movement and cooler videos. I've built a Pavo Pico with a DJI O3 Air Unit, and I'm currently working on building a SPYDR Itsy.

Language Learning

Language Learning

I speak four languages at an intermediate or higher level: English (native), Spanish (B2-C1), Russian (B1-B2), and Hindi (B1-B2). Through experience, I've learned there is a lot of nonsense beliefs about language learning driven by marketing dollars and profit motives. Soon, I will begin to write more here about my advice about language learning.
